LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's men's cross country team climbed two spots to check in at No. 20 in the NCAA Division I Men's Cross Country Coaches' Poll, announced Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Aggies received 127 points in this week's poll to rank as the highest team in the Mountain West and the fourth-highest team in the Mountain Region. USU leapfrogged conference-foe Boise State, which fell to No. 27 after ranking No. 18 in last week's poll. Colorado State also made the poll, checking in at No. 25. Wyoming and Air Force each received votes, as well, earning 20 and nine votes, respectively.

This is Utah State's highest ranking since the Aggies peaked at No. 19 in Week 5 of the 2017 season.

Three other teams from the Beehive State found themselves in this week's poll. BYU is No. 2 with 317 points, while Southern Utah (17 points) and Weber State (6 points) are each receiving votes.

In Utah State's last outing, the Aggie men won their first-ever Mountain West title, placing first as they hosted the MW Championships last Friday morning at the Steve and Dona Reeder Cross Country Course. USU earned 42 points as a team, finishing 32 points better than runner-up Colorado State. The Aggies were led by senior Dallin Farnsworth, who became the first Aggie runner to ever win a MW Championship race with a championship record-setting time of 23:12.2.

Utah State's men's and women's cross country teams return to action next weekend when they compete at the Mountain Region Championships on Friday, Nov. 15, at Sunnyside Park in Salt Lake City. The women's 6k race will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the men's 10k at noon. The 2019 NCAA Championships will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, in Terre Haute, Ind.
