MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Utah State lifted the lid on its 2019 campaign on Jan. 12, at a quad meet hosted by Pittsburgh. The Aggies are back East again this weekend for a quad meet hosted by West Virginia on Sunday, Feb. 17, at the WVU Coliseum.
Joining the Aggies (1-6, 0-4 MRGC) and Mountaineers (8-4, 0-3 Big 12) will be Cornell (5-7, 1-2 ECAC) and Pittsburgh (5-5, 1-3 EAGL).
Sunday's quad meet at West Virginia will be streamed live at wvusports.com/watch. The stream is free, and all routines from each team will be featured in their entirety. Additionally, live scoring will be available online at www.statbroadcast.com, and fans can follow the Utah State gymnastics social media outlets for meet updates.
Utah State enters Sunday's quad meet ranked 33rd nationally with an average team score of 194.670, including a high of 194.975 set the last two weekends. As a team, the Aggies are tied for 33rd in the nation on vault (48.685), 30th on bars (48.660), 38th on beam (48.475) and 32nd on floor (48.850).
Individually, senior
Madison Ward-Sessions is tied for 33rd nationally on floor (9.870), tied for 64th on vault (9.810) and ranked 58th in the all-around (38.975). DeHarde is tied for 47th nationally on beam (9.830), while Varnadore is tied for 60th in the nation in the all-around (38.930).
West Virginia is ranked 27th in the nation with an average team score of 195.117, including a high of 196.125. The Mountaineers are 22nd nationally on vault (48.854), 40th on bars (48.500), 34th on beam (48.596) and 10th on floor (49.167).
Pitt is ranked 37th nationally with an average team score of 194.405, including a high of 195.175. The Panthers are 31st in the nation on vault (48.730), 52nd on bars (48.030), tied for 23rd on beam (48.770) and 30th on floor (48.875).
Cornell is ranked 58th in the nation with an average team score of 191.950, including a high of 194.000. The Big Red are 59th nationally on vault (48.065), 59th on bars (47.655), 62nd on beam (47.810) and 53rd on floor (48.420).
