OMAHA, Neb. – Utah State women's tennis (8-7, 0-0 MW) extended their winning streak to four matches with a 4-3 victory against Creighton (4-10) on Friday evening at the Hanscom Tennis Center.

"Today was a bit of a struggle, but we found a way to win," said head coach Sean McInerney. "Creighton did a good job hanging around and pushed us, but in the end, we had just enough for the victory."

In doubles play, sophomore Alexandra Taylor and junior Hannah Jones recorded a 6-2 win at the top spot, while sophomore Alexandra Pisareva and freshman Sidnee Lavatai clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win of their own at the second position.

In singles, Jones opened the night with a 6-3, 6-4 straight-sets win at the No. 3 spot, while Pisareva recorded a 6-1, 7-5 victory at the No. 1 spot, making it 3-0 Aggies. Creighton would tie things up as they won at the No. 2, 4 and 6 spot, and the match came down to the No. 5 spot. Freshman Annaliese County would make things interesting as she fell in the first set, 6-2, but swept her second set, 6-0. The third and final set came down to a tiebreaker and County would prevail, recording the 7-6 (4) win to clinch the march.

With Jones' two wins tonight, she has now recorded 100 career wins and currently ranks 8th all-time in program history for the most combined singles and doubles wins.

"Congrats to Hannah Jones on her 100th career victory," McInerney said. "She has become such a huge part of our success and I'm very proud of what she has become as a player. Many wins are still ahead for her."

Utah State will close out their stay in Omaha with a neutral-court match against North Dakota (9-7) tomorrow at 1 p.m. (MT).
