TUCSON, Ariz. – Utah State junior golfer
Chase Lansford carded a 2-over-par 74 during his second round Saturday and is currently tied for 22nd place at 2-under 142 (68-74) at the 2019 Mountain West Men's Golf Championship held here at the par-72, 7,194-yard Catalina Course at Omni Tucson National Resort.
As a team, Utah State is in 10th place with a 6-over 582 (288-294). Colorado State is currently in first place with a 22-under 554 (279-275), while New Mexico's Sean Carlon sits on top of the leaderboard with a 9-under 135 (67-68).
Lansford began his second round by carding a 2-over 38 on the front nine with two birdies, two bogeys and one double bogey, and then scored an even-par 36 on the back nine with two birdies and two bogeys.
Sophomore
Andy Hess continued his solid play as well as he shot a 1-over 73 during his second round. Hess began the day by shooting an even-par 36 on the front nine with one birdie and one bogey, and then shot a 1-over 37 on the back nine with one birdie and two bogeys.
Also competing for Utah State is junior
Hayden Eckert, who shot an even-par 72 during his second round and is tied for 51st place at 7-over 151 (79-72). Freshman
Cameron Tucker is also tied for 51st place at 7-over 151 (71-80) and sophomore
Colten Cordingley is in 55th place at 15-over 159 (84-75).
The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Sunday with the third round beginning at 7 a.m. (PT). On Sunday, USU golfers will be grouped with players from Air Force.
