LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's tennis (9-7, 0-0 MW), fresh off a week and a half break, will open its Mountain West schedule in Albuquerque, N.M., as the Aggies take on New Mexico (8-8, 1-1 MW) on Friday, April 5, at noon. USU then travels to Colorado Springs, Colo., to face Air Force (20-1, 3-0 MW) on Saturday, April 7, at noon.

Utah State is led by freshman Sidnee Lavatai with a 10-4 mark in dual matches, including 9-3 at the No. 6 spot, while sophomore Alexandra Pisareva is 8-2. In doubles, the duo of Lavatai and Pisareva, as well as junior Lucy Octave and freshman Annaliese County, are both 7-3.

The Aggies' last action saw junior Hannah Jones being named the Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week as she posted a 4-0 mark against Creighton and North Dakota. The Aggies edged out a 4-3 win at Creighton and swept North Dakota, 7-0. Additionally, Jones recorded her 100th career win and currently ranks eighth all-time in program history for the most combined singles and doubles wins (102).

New Mexico leads the all-time series against Utah State, 7-1, as the Aggies' first win against the Lobos came last season in a 4-3 home victory. New Mexico is led by Bronte Murgett, who is 10-3 at the No. 2 and 3 spots, while the doubles tandem of Murgett and Natasha Munday are 11-1 at the third position.

Air Force leads USU, 6-4, in the series. However, the Aggies have won four of the last five meetings, including most recently a 4-3 win in the opening round of last year's Mountain West Championship in Boise, Idaho. In singles, Air Force's Elizabeth Barnickel is 17-4 at the No. 2 spot and TJ Fumagalli is 16-4 at the No. 1 spot. In doubles, Barnickel and Fumagalli lead the Falcons with an 15-2 mark at the No. 1 spot.
