ARD AT WORK
On March 23, 2020, Utah State University Vice President and Director of Athletics
John Hartwell officially introduced
Kayla Ard as the ninth head women's basketball coach in its 32 seasons. Ard, a native of Hammond, La., comes to Utah State after spending the past three seasons as the associate head coach, recruiting coordinator and offensive coordinator at the University of Denver under Jim Turgeon.
Ard brings 10 years of collegiate experience with her to Utah State, serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Denver, Dayton, Clemson, Troy and Pensacola State.
STARTING OUT STRONG
Ard has the opportunity to do something that only two previous USU women's basketball head coaches have done before — win her first game at the helm. Historically, USU coaches are 2-6 in their debut appearances, with only Fern Gardner (1974-75) and Cindy Perkins (1978-79) opening their careers with a victory.

Taylor Ignoto was brought on as the director of basketball operations and special assistant to the head coach.
