LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head softball coach Steve Johnson has announced an additional signing to the 2021 class in pitcher Mia Reynolds.

Reynolds joins the Aggies from Tulare, Calif., where she plays at Tulare Union High School. Last spring, the right-hander recorded an earned run average of 0.88 and struck out 39 batters in five games before the season was cut short due to the current pandemic. For her career, Reynolds has an ERA of 1.39 with 547 strikeouts. At the plate, she is hitting .376 with 74 hits in 197 at-bats.

Reynolds is a three-time team MVP and earned first-team all-league and first-team all-area honors both her freshman and sophomore seasons. She has played club softball with Sorcerer Gold since 2018, and played four seasons with the CenCal Dirtdogs before that.

"We're very excited to add Mia to our 2021 class. As a pitcher, she will add tremendous depth to our already strong pitching staff," Johnson said. "Mia has shown tremendous growth over the last year to develop into a top pitcher that will help us win a Mountain West championship. On top of being a great softball player, Mia is also an outstanding student and someone who has great character, which is exactly the type of player we look to add to our program as we continue to build and develop our culture."

Reynolds will join a group of six players who signed with the Aggies last month. Reynolds, Emily Dority, Taryn Edds, Gigi Gonzalez, Ariel Lopez, Claudia Medina and Claire Raley will be in Logan next fall for the 2022 season.
