LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head gymnastics coach
Amy Smith has announced the addition of Angel Stuart, who signed a letter of acceptance with the Aggies, to this year's recruiting class.
The native of Gilberts, Ill., will join the incoming freshman class of MiKelle Ballard, Olivia Blakely, Brianna Brooks, Lara Burhans and Eve Jackson.
"We are very excited to add Angel to our team," Smith said. "She is a dynamic gymnast that could make the lineup on both vault and floor for us."
Stuart trained at Legacy Elite Gymnastics in Aurora, Ill., during the 2019-20 season under the direction of Jiani Wu. She was the 2017 regional floor and all-around champion, while placing second on vault and beam. In 2018, she was the regional floor champion and placed third on vault, and in 2019, she finished 12th in the all-around.
The daughter of Eacliffe and Grace Stuart graduated from Hampshire (Ill.) High School this past spring.
