LOGAN, Utah – Utah State women's tennis has announced the signing of Brooke Demerath. She will join the Aggies next fall for the 2021-22 season.
Demerath, a native of Kenmore, Wash., is set to begin her senior season at Inglemoor High School. She has been named the Vikings' team MVP all three years of her career, while also taking the district singles title each season. Demerath finished second individually at the state championships as a sophomore, while the 2020 state tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Her older sister, Sabrina Demerath, played tennis at USU from 2015-18.
"We are extremely happy to have Brooke joining our program at Utah State University. I was lucky to coach her sister Sabrina, and now I get the opportunity to coach Brooke, which is awesome," said USU head coach Sean McInerney. "She is a great athlete, very good competitor and I feel her game is going to explode as a college player. She is very hardworking and high-achieving both on the court and in the classroom and I cannot wait to get her here and start working on her game."
