SALT LAKE CITY, Utah --- The Utah State men's tennis team continued play at the Utah Invitational on Saturday, playing doubles teams from Montana State and another six singles opponents from Idaho State.

Starting in doubles play, juniors Javier Ruiz and Roko Savin achieved USU's only doubles victory on the day via a 6-3 victory over Montana State's Jameison Nathan and Manuel Monteiro. Senior Felipe Acosta and freshman Gabriel Chavez fell 6-1 to MSU's Matej Panik and Nejc Sitar, while sophomore Jack Ninteman and freshman Sergi Mico Fenollar also fell in their matchup versus Daan Van Dijk and Brad Buckland, 6-4.

Over in singles play against Idaho State, Ruiz again led USU's efforts with a straight-set win over Patrick Kristensen, 6-3, 7-5. Acosta also returned to his winning form with a 6-2, 7-6 (2) win over Hiroki Fujita. Mico Fenollar also notched a victory, outlasting Andreas Kramer in three sets to win, 7-5, 5-7, 6-2. Ninteman managed to force a third set as well but ultimately fell short against ISU's Ege Cankus, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Chavez also fought to force a second-set tiebreak but was unable to prolong the match against Wikus Robbertse in a 6-1, 7-6 (4) defeat. Savin also last in straight sets to Patrik Thrac, 7-5, 6-2.

Utah State wraps up both doubles and singles play at the Utah Invitational on Sunday.
