LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's gymnastics returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 6, when the 23rd-ranked Aggies travel to the Gem State to take on No. 25 Boise State.
The Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference dual meet featuring the Aggies (1-4, 1-3 MRGC) and Broncos (2-1, 1-1 MRGC) will begin at 6 p.m., and streamed live

"We are very excited to compete against Boise State, because they are such a great team," said Utah State head coach
Amy Smith. "This will be our first official trip outside of Utah this year, so that is very exciting and we are excited about the opportunity to notch a great road score. We had one of the best weeks of practice leading up to this meet in all of my four years at Utah State. This team trained like a championship team this week, which was extremely inspiring. It should be a great competition."

"We are really fired up for this Saturday," said junior
Grace Rojas. "We got back in the gym on Monday and had a great practice and built off of it all week. We focused on the small details and now we can't wait to get out there and do our normal gymnastics.
"The energy in the gym this week was great and we are excited to carry that on into Saturday's meet. Our conference is so strong this year that our mindset has changed in the gym. We are holding ourselves to a higher standard and are really excited to show all the work we have put in."
Utah State's last visit to Boise State was one for the record books.
Fueled by a record-setting performance on the balance beam, the Aggies recorded a season-high 196.800 to tie Boise State for first place in a quad meet on Feb. 21, 2020.
The Aggies recorded a school-record 49.575 on beam, breaking the previous mark of 49.475 set in a home tri meet against Boise State and Utah on Feb. 26, 1999. Furthermore, the 196.800 proved to be the second-highest score in school history.
Utah State currently holds national rankings on two events. The Aggies are tied for 21st on beam with a team average of 48.800 and rank No. 23 on bars with an average of 48.908.
Individually, senior
Mikaela Meyer ranks first in the MRGC and is tied for 25th nationally on vault with an average of 9.858. Fellow senior
Autumn DeHarde is first in the conference and tied for 14th on beam with an average of 9.888.
Meyer was named the MRGC Vault Specialist of the Week after capturing the Aggies' lone event title with a career-high 9.900 against BYU last weekend. It was her fourth-career event title – all on vault – and the 9.900 is tied for the eighth-best score in school history.
The Aggies lead the all-time series with the Broncos 56-49-1, including a 17-18-1 mark in Boise.
