LOGAN, Utah – Utah State seniors
Autumn DeHarde and
Mikaela Meyer were both honored by the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference following their respective performances against No. 22 Boise State last weekend.
DeHarde was named the MRGC Beam Specialist of the Week after capturing the title with a season-high-tying 9.925, which is tied for eighth all-time in school history, on the event against the Broncos. It is the second time this year, and 14th time in her career, that the native of Sussex, Wis., has picked up a weekly honor from the MRGC.
Meyer was tabbed the MRGC Vault Specialist of the Week for the second-consecutive week after she won the title with a career-high-tying 9.900 against BSU. It is the second time this year, and fourth time in her career, that the native of Meyersville, Md., has garnered a weekly accolade from the MRGC.
Overall, these are Utah State's fourth and fifth weekly accolades this season and the 48th and 49th honors in its sixth season in the league.
DeHarde has now captured a pair of beam titles this season and has 14 in her career, extending her own school record. Her 23 career titles rank 13th all-time in school history. DeHarde is tied for first in the MRGC and tied for eighth in the nation with a beam average of 9.900.
With DeHarde leading the way, the 21st-ranked Aggies are second in the conference and 20th in the nation with a team beam average of 48.881.
Meyer currently ranks first in the MRGC and tied for 18th in the nation with a vault average of 9.869. As a team, Utah State ranks second in the league and 23rd nationally with an average of 48.863 on vault.
Meyer has captured the vault crown in the Aggies' last three meets. She has five vault titles in her career, which is tied for 11th all-time in school history.
Utah State returns home to face Boise State in another MRGC dual meet on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m., at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
