POCATELLO, Idaho – Utah State women's tennis (5-4) extended its winning streak to four matches Sunday, as it defeated regional rival Idaho State (7-4), 6-1. 

"We really played well today. It was important for us after suffering an early-season loss to them to show how much improvement we have made since early February," said Utah State head coach Sean McInerney. We did a great job of playing aggressively and keeping the pressure on them from the very start."

The Aggies got things started winning the doubles point. Junior Annaliese County and sophomore Carolina Millan defeated Angela Walker and Alexandra Arkhipov, 6-1, in the No. 3 spot. Sophomore Renata Lombera and freshman Naya Tillitt then clinched the point with a 6-2 win over Hristina Cvetkovic and Hana Cho at No. 1.

USU went on to win all but one singles match. Freshman Lisa Küng opened play with a straight-set win (6-0, 6-1) over Arkhipov in the No. 3 spot, while Ryan swept Cho (6-1, 7-5) at No. 2. Lombera clinched the match with a win (6-3, 6-4) over Sol O'Lideadha in the No. 4 position. Millan took her match to three sets in the No. 1 position, defeating Cvetkovic (6-0, 4-6, 7-5), while County earned the final point with a victory (6-2, 6-4) over Lang-Gould at No. 5.

Utah State will conclude the non-conference portion of its season next week, playing at BYU on Saturday, March 20. Action from Provo will begin at 11 a.m.
