No. 21 Utah State Gymnastics Set to Host MRGC Championships on Saturday

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's 21st-ranked gymnastics team returns to action on Saturday, March 20, when the Aggies host the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championships.
 
Joining the Aggies (5-10) at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum will be No. 12 BYU (8-6), No. 19 Boise State (9-2) and No. 20 Southern Utah (5-8).
 
The MRGC Championships will be streamed live at www.utahstateaggies.com/watch. Additionally, live scoring will be available online at https://bit.ly/2NyEcOV, and fans can follow the Utah State gymnastics social media outlets for meet updates.
 
Utah State enters the MRGC Championships ranked 21st nationally with a National Qualifying Score of 196.531, including a high of 196.775, which ranks third all-time in school history, set on March 7, at the Denver tri meet. As a team, the Aggies are tied for 19th in the nation on vault (49.163), tied for 29th on bars (49.069), tied for 15th on beam (49.263) and rank 27th on floor (49.188).

Individually, senior Autumn DeHarde leads the MRGC, is tied for eighth in the North Central Region and tied for 20th nationally on beam with a National Qualifying Score of 9.919. She has been named the MRGC Beam Specialist of the Week three times this season.
 
Fellow senior Mikaela Meyer ranks first in the MRGC and is tied for 43rd in the nation with an NQS of 9.881 on vault. She has been named the MRGC Vault Specialist of the Week three times this season.
 
Six different Aggies have earned MRGC weekly accolades a total of 12 times this year, including graduate Leighton Varnadore, who was been named the Gymnast of the Week in consecutive weeks.
 
In its previous four outings at the MRGC Championships – the 2020 championships were canceled due to COVID-19 – Utah State has placed second (2017), third (2018) and fourth (2016 and 2019). The Aggies hosted the championships in 2017 and recorded a 196.100, which is the best score they have ever produced in a conference championship meet. Furthermore, it is currently tied for the 10th-best home score in school history.
