PROVO, Utah – Utah State women's tennis (5-4) wrapped up its non-conference season Saturday, falling 6-1 at BYU.

BYU took the lead early, claiming the doubles point. The Aggies picked up one win in doubles play, with sophomore Carolina Millan and junior Annaliese County defeating Emilee Astle and Elizabeth Tullis, 6-3, in the No. 3 position. 

The Cougars extended their lead and clinched the win, taking the first three singles matches in straight sets. Sophomore Renata Lombera gave the Aggies their sole point of the match, as she recorded a three-set win (6-2, 3-6, 6-4) over Astle. In the No. 5 position, County pushed her match to three sets as well, but ultimately fell in a super tiebreak.

Utah State will open the Mountain West portion of its season next week in Albuquerque, N.M. The Aggies will take on New Mexico on Saturday, March 27, at 1 p.m. The team will then stay in town, playing Air Force on Sunday, March 28, at 9:30 a.m.
