LOGAN, Utah – For the second-consecutive week, Utah State's gymnastics team is ranked No. 20 in the country in the Road to Nationals rankings, which were released Monday.
The Aggies remained in the 20th spot after notching their third-best team score in school history with a 196.775 at the Denver tri meet this past Sunday at Hamilton Gymnasium in Denver, Colo. The 196.775 turned in by Utah State is also the third-best road score in school history.
USU's best team score of the season came from a 49.125 on floor, which the Aggies opened the meet on, followed by a season-best 49.225 on vault – tied for third all-time in school history. In the third rotation, Utah State tallied a 49.025 on bars for the second-straight week, then closed the day with a season-high 49.400 on beam, which ranks third all-time in school history.
All four teams in the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference continue to be ranked in the top 25. BYU (196.969 National Qualifying Score) is tied for 12th in the nation, Southern Utah (196.663) is 17th, Boise State (196.606) is 18th climbed and the Aggies are 20th (196.463).
Utah State also holds national rankings on two events. The Aggies are tied for 19th on vault (49.125 NQS) and rank 14th on beam (49.263). They have scored 49 or better on beam in their last seven meets, which is a school record.
Individually, senior
Autumn DeHarde is first in the conference and tied for 17th in the nation on beam with an NQS of 9.919.
Utah State wraps up its season-long four-meet road stretch when the Aggies travel to Salt Lake City, to take on No. 4 Utah on Friday, March 12, at 7 p.m., at the Huntsman Center.
