LOGAN, Utah – Utah State women's tennis (7-13, 2-8 MW) closed out its 2020-21 campaign on Sunday afternoon, dropping a down-to-the-wire 4-3 battle to Wyoming (13-6, 7-2 MW) at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club.
 
The Aggies got off to a strong start, taking the doubles point. The USU duo of sophomore Zara Ryan and freshman Naya Tillitt posted a 7-6 win at, while juniors Annaliese County and Gabrielle Dekkers had a dominant 6-1 win at No. 3. 
 
Utah State carried the momentum into singles play, as sophomore Carolina Millan defeated Maria Oreshkina (6-3, 6-2) in the No. 1 spot to put USU up 2-0 in the match. Wyoming responded with wins at the Nos. 3 and 4 spot, before sophomore Renata Lombera put the Aggies back on top with a dramatic third-set tiebreak win (6-4, 3-6, 7-6). The Cowgirls knotted the score up at 3-3 with a win at the No. 5 spot, then posted a second-set tiebreak win at No. 6 to clinch the victory.
