LOGAN, Utah – Utah State women's distance runner
LeAnn Larkin-Hatch has been named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, May 9. The award is voted on by a state-wide media panel.
With their sponsorship of the Student-Athlete of the Week, America First Credit Union donates funds directly to support student-athlete scholarships.
Larkin-Hatch was one of nine different Aggies to capture an event title last week at the Weber State-hosted Twilight Meet in Ogden. The native of Shelley, Idaho, led a 1-2-3-4-5 finish for Utah State in the 1,500 meters as she placed first with a time of 4:35.85.
The Aggies are back in action this week at the Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will take place Thursday through Saturday, May 13-15, at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, Calif.

SOFTBALL – Senior outfielder Stephanie Reed (Santa Fe, Texas) helped Utah State to a 1-1 record last week, as the Aggies split a home doubleheader against Dixie State (L, 5-1; W 3-2). In the first game, Reed was 0-for-3 at the plate, but recorded one putout and one assist. In the win over the Trailblazers, Reed went 3-for-3 at the plate, including two home runs. She scored three runs and had two RBIs. She also added one stolen base and two putouts.
MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD – Senior
Garen Earley (Murray, Utah) was one of nine different Aggies to capture an event title last week at the Weber State-hosted Twilight Meet in Ogden. Earley finished first in the 100 meters with a personal-best time of 10.63 seconds (altitude-converted to 10.66), which is the second-fastest time in the Mountain West this season.
