Utah State Women’s Tennis Announces 2022 Spring Schedule

LOGAN, Utah — Utah State women's tennis has announced its 2022 spring dual match schedule.

Under ninth-year head coach Sean McInerney, Utah State returns six letterwinners to the 2022 squad while adding one transfer in junior Zeynep Naz Ozturk (Istanbul, Turkey) from Purdue and one freshman in Brooke Demerath (Kenmore, Washington).

The Aggies will begin their dual match season on Saturday, Feb. 5, when they host Idaho State at 11 a.m. The team will then face a pair of in-state foes. First, USU will travel to face Dixie State on Friday, Feb. 11, before returning to Logan to play Weber State on Sunday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. Two weeks later, Utah State travels to Montana for a two-match weekend, first taking on Montana on Saturday, Feb. 26, before facing off with Portland on Sunday, Feb. 27.

USU then will host BYU on Friday, March 4, at 11 a.m., before embarking on a six-match roadtrip to conclude its non-conference schedule and open Mountain West play. The Aggies will first travel to California for a match at CSUN on Wednesday, March 9, before facing its last non-conference opponent at Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, March 12.

Utah State's first MW action will come on Saturday, March 26, when the Aggies face UNLV in San Diego, California. The following day on March 27, USU will face San Diego State. USU's road trip will continue on Saturday, April 2, when the team faces Boise State in Reno, Nevada, before also facing Nevada on Sunday, April 3.

The Aggies return to Cache Valley the following week for the team's only home matches of MW play. USU will play host to Air Force on Saturday, April 9, followed by a home match versus New Mexico on Sunday, April 10. Utah State will again hit the road the following week at Wyoming on Friday, April 15, and then face Colorado State on Saturday, April 16, also in Laramie. The Aggies will complete their regular season with two neutral matches in Boise, Idaho, versus San Jose State on Friday, April 22, and Fresno State on Saturday, April 23.

All of Utah State's home matches will be played at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club this season.
