• Utah State men's basketball (12-9, 3-5 MW) continues its 2021-22 season this week with three-straight Mountain West home games as it hosts Air Force (10-9, 3-5 MW) on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m., San José State (7-12, 0-7 MW) on Thursday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m., and UNLV (12-9, 4-4 MW) on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 4 p.m. USU is 21-7 all-time against AFA, including a 12-0 record at home, 66-22 all-time against SJSU, including a 38-4 mark at home, and 11-34 all-time against UNLV, including a 7-13 record at home. Fans can watch the games on Tuesday and Thursday via the Mountain West Network, streaming online at www.utahstateaggies.com/watch, and the game on Saturday on CBS Sports Network (Xfinity Ch. 269/753HD, DISH Ch. 158, DirecTV Ch. 221).

• Utah State won both of its Mountain West games last week with a 75-57 home victory against San Diego State and a 78-49 win at Nevada. Against the Aztecs, sophomore guard Steven Ashworth led four Aggies in double figures with a team-high 17 points, followed by senior forward Justin Bean (13), graduate forward Brandon Horvath (12) and junior guard Sean Bairstow (10). Bean recorded his league-leading 13th double-double of the season after pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds. USU shot 49.1 percent (27-of-55) from the floor, 41.7 percent (10-of-24) from behind the 3-point line and 78.6 percent (11-of-14) at the free throw line. SDSU shot 48.9 percent (23-of-47) from the floor, 33.3 percent (5-of-15) from behind the 3-point line and 60.0 percent (6-of-10) at the free throw line. At Nevada, Bean and senior guard RJ Eytle-Rock led six Aggies in double figures, scoring 12 points apiece, and were followed by Ashworth (11), sophomore guard Max Shulga (11), Bairstow (10) and Horvath (10). Every player that dressed for USU saw time in the game as the Aggies shot 50.0 percent (30-of-60) from the floor, 37.0 percent (10-of-27) from behind the 3-point line and 80.0 percent (8-of-10) at the free throw line. The Wolf Pack shot 31.0 percent (18-of-58) from the floor, 13.3 percent (2-of-15) from behind the 3-point line and 84.6 percent (11-of-13) at the free throw line.

• Utah State women's basketball (7-13, 2-8 MW) continues its 2021-22 season this week with a pair of Mountain West home games as it hosts San Diego State (9-11, 3-6 MW) on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 6 p.m., and UNLV (17-4, 9-1 MW) on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 8 p.m. All-time, the Aggies are 7-11 against the Aztecs and 4-27 against the Lady Rebels. • Utah State split its Mountain West road games last week with a 63-61 win at San José State and a 71-57 loss at Fresno State. Against the Spartans, junior guard/forward Adryana Quezada led the Aggies with 20 points, while senior guard/forward E'Lease Stafford registered her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 boards. USU shot 36.8 percent (25-of-68) from the field, 31.8 percent (7-of-22) from behind the arc and 50.0 percent (6-of-12) at the free throw line. SJSU shot 36.5 percent (23-of-63) from the floor, 23.8 percent (5-of-21) from behind the 3-point line and 62.5 percent (10-of-16) at the free throw line. Against the Bulldogs, Quezada led the team with her sixth double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Kaylin Randhawa and Stafford also finished in double figures with 10 points each. USU shot 38.9 percent (21-of-54) from the field, 15.4 percent (2-of-13) from behind the arc and 72.2 percent (13-of-18) at the free throw line. FSU shot 36.8 percent (25-of-68) from the floor, 33.3 percent (7-of-21) from behind the 3-point line and 77.8 percent (14-of-18) at the free throw line.

• Utah State gymnastics (5-3, 2-1 Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference) continues its 2022 season this week at home when the 20th-ranked Aggies welcome No. 24 Southern Utah (2-4, 1-3 MRGC) and Ball State (4-5-1, 0-2-0 MAC) to the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum for a tri meet on Friday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m.

• Behind eight top-three finishes, including two each by freshman Brie Clark, sophomore Brianna Brooks and junior Rebecca Wells, Utah State recorded a 196.450 against No. 18 BYU in a Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference dual meet last weekend in Provo, Utah. Brooks tied for first on vault with a 9.875 and tied for third on bars with a 9.900, both career highs, while Wells finished second in the all-around with a season-high 39.150. The Cougars won their home opener by scoring a 196.775. USU's 196.450 is the second-highest road score in series history against BYU. Furthermore, it is the 10th-best score in school history, including the sixth-best score on the road. The Aggies enjoyed a strong night with five gymnasts setting five career highs and tying two personal bests as USU either won or tied for first on all four events. As a team, the Aggies finished with a 49.050 on bars, a season-high 49.100 on vault, which is tied for 10th all-time in school history, a 49.025 on floor and a 49.275 on beam, which is tied for sixth all-time in school history. USU began the dual meet on bars, where junior Maia Fishwick tied for first with a season-high 9.925, which is tied for 10th all-time in school history. Brooks notched her career-high 9.900 in the fifth spot, while Fishwick followed suit with her season high in the sixth spot. Wells tied Brooks for first on vault with a career-high-tying 9.875. Freshman Molly Arnold tied for seventh as she matched her personal best on the event with a 9.800. Clark finished first on floor for the fourth-straight meet with a 9.925, which is tied for 18th all-time in school history, while Arnold tied for sixth with a personal-best 9.800. Closing the meet on beam, senior Carley Bayles led the way for the Aggies as she tied for first with a career-high 9.925, which is tied for eighth all-time in school history. Clark tied for third with a personal-best 9.900, and Brooks placed fifth with a 9.850.

• Utah State's men's and women's indoor track & field teams continue their seasons at home this weekend with the Aggie-hosted Speed and Power Meet on Saturday, Feb. 5, at the George Nelson Fieldhouse. Field events will begin at 9:30 a.m., while running events will start at 10 a.m.

• Utah State's men's and women's indoor track & field teams split into two teams and claimed nine titles and 37 top-five finishes at both the Washington Invitational and Idaho State Invitational last weekend. In Seattle, senior Connor Weaver delivered USU's first title with a time of 14:09.80 in the 5,000 meters. The quartet of senior Devin Pancake, junior Christopher Kauffman, and sophomores Brennan Benson and Brandon Williams won the DMR with a time of 9:52.76. In Pocatello, the Aggies saw seven more titles come to fruition. Senior Hailey Suit ran away with the 60 meters, posting a time of 7.67. In the 200 meters, junior Gabriella Holmstrom won the event with a time of 24.87. Both the men and women also claimed victory in the 4x400-meter relay. For the women, freshmen Olivia Smith and Alison Richter combined with senior Alexis Koetitz and sophomore Emma Reeves to register a time of 3:53.28. On the men's side, junior Dominic Bentil and seniors Mikhail Kidd, Spencer Eldridge and Skyler Andam combined for the win with a time of 3:17.65. The Aggies also dominated the individual 400 meters, as Bentil won the event with a time of 48.59. Kidd, freshman Johnny Cruz and Eldridge claimed the next three places in the event with times of 49.51, 49.64 and 49.66, respectively. A pair of freshmen took home two distance titles as freshman Caleb Armstrong earned the victory in the mile with a time of 4:15.16, while freshman Garrett Woodhouse claimed the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:28.96.

• Utah State men's tennis (2-1, 0-0 MW) will continue its 2022 spring season this weekend with an in-state match at Weber State (1-5) on Saturday, Feb. 5, at noon.

• Utah State posted a 1-1 record last week with a 7-0 loss at Washington and a 6-1 neutral court win against Idaho in Seattle, Washington. Against the Huskies, freshman Sergi Mico Fenollar was the lone Aggie to claim a set in singles play. Against the Vandals, USU started strong in doubles play as juniors David Cierny and Bodin Zarkovic posted a 6-4 win at the first position, sophomore Jack Ninteman and junior Javier Ruiz combined for a 6-3 win at the second position, and seniors Felipe Acosta and Maksymilian Raupuk clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at the third position. In singles play, Cierny won in straight sets at the No. 1 spot (6-1, 6-4). Zarkovic won in straight sets at the No. 2 spot (6-3, 7-6). Acosta won in straight sets at the No. 3 spot (6-2, 6-4). Freshman Sergi Mico Fenollar won in straight sets at the No. 4 spot (6-3, 6-2). And, Raupuk won in straight sets at the No. 5 spot (7-6, 6-3).

• Utah State women's tennis (0-0, 0-0 MW) kicks off its 2022 spring dual season this weekend by hosting Idaho State (1-0) on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m., at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club. USU returns five letterwinners from last year's team that went 7-13 on the season with a 2-8 Mountain West record.
