LOGAN, Utah – Utah State cross country runner Morgan Nygren was named the Mountain West Female Freshman of the Week on Tuesday for her performance at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational.

Nygren helped lead the 23rd-ranked Aggies to a second-place finish last Friday at the Reeder Memorial. The native of Newbury Park, California, completed the 5-kilometer Steve and Dona Reeder Cross Country Course in 19 minutes, 20.20 seconds as she was the fourth Aggie to cross the finish line and 18th runner overall.

As a team, Utah State, competing in its second and final home meet of the season, placed second with 50 points, while No. 5 BYU captured the title with 23 points.

The Aggies return to action this week when they compete in the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour on Friday, Oct. 14, at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wisconsin.
