LOGAN, Utah – First-year Utah State head gymnastics coach
Kristin White announced the Aggies' 2023 schedule on Monday, a slate that features four home meets at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
"My staff and I are eager to announce our 2023 gymnastics schedule," White said. "We have an exciting schedule ahead that will be full of great opportunities for our student-athletes. I look forward to seeing our fellow MRGC competitors, as well as members from the Pac-12, Big 10 and the MPSF. I am excited for our fans to experience what gymnastics in the valley is like. We have four very exciting home competitions that will prove to be a fun and exciting Friday evening for you and your families."
Utah State will open the season at the fourth annual Rio Tinto Best of Utah Meet on Friday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m., at the Maverik Center in West Valley City. The podium event will also feature in-state rivals BYU, Southern Utah and Utah.
The Aggies will remain on the road the following weekend when they travel to Cedar City, Utah, to take on Southern Utah in a Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference dual meet on Friday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m.
Utah State will make its home debut on Friday, Jan. 27, when the Aggies welcome BYU to the Spectrum at 7 p.m.
USU opens the month of February on the road when the Aggies travel to the Gem State for an MRGC dual meet against Boise State on Friday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m. The same two teams will meet again the following weekend when Utah State opens a two-meet homestand on Friday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m.
The Aggies remain at home on Friday, Feb. 17, when they take on Southern Utah at 7 p.m.
After battling the Thunderbirds, Utah State heads to Provo, Utah, for an MRGC dual against BYU on Friday, Feb. 24.
Utah State closes out the home portion of its schedule with a tri meet against Alaska and Nebraska on Friday, March 3, at 7 p.m.
The Aggies then head back out on the road for a quad meet at California on Friday, March 10. Joining Utah State and Cal in Berkeley will be Ohio State and Stanford.
BYU hosts the MRGC Championships on Saturday, March 18, welcoming the Aggies, Broncos and Thunderbirds to the Marriott Center, at 6 p.m.
The NCAA Regional Championships are scheduled for March 30-April 2, at one of four sites: Denver, Colorado; Los Angeles, California; Norman, Oklahoma; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The NCAA Championships are slated for April 13-15, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Utah State, which will host the team's annual Aggie Blue & Fighting White intrasquad meet on Friday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m., returns 12 gymnasts from last year's squad that enjoyed one of its finest seasons in program history as the Aggies competed in their 27th NCAA Regional Championship.
"We look forward to seeing everyone for our annual intrasquad meet," White said. "This is the first opportunity to watch our team prepare their final touches before the 2023 season kicks off. The team will be split into two following a typical dual-meet competition. You will see members of our team compete the routines that they have practiced all preseason long. This event will co-inside with a Meet the Team event."
