LARAMIE, Wyo. – With the regular season now in the rearview mirror, Utah State's cross country teams can now turn their attention to the postseason, which begins in the Cowboy State for the Aggies.
Utah State is set to compete in the 2022 Mountain West Championships on Friday, Oct. 28, at the Jacoby Golf Course. The women's 6K race is slated to begin at 10:15 a.m., with the men's 8K race scheduled for 11 a.m.
"Both teams are excited to compete at the MW Championships," said Utah State head coach
Artie Gulden. "We will go in and compete hard and see what happens. Lots of variables will come into play like the weather and altitude. Managing those variables will be half the battle and I believe, if we can, both teams are in a position to do very well."

The Aggies received an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships after placing seventh at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships.
The women also recorded the program's best-ever finish at the MW Championships, placing second with a team score of 73. The Aggies were paced by
Katie Haviland and
Rivera, finishing 10th and 12th, respectively, with times of 20:05.1 and 20:07.7. That duo was subsequently named to the all-MW second team.
On the men's side, the Aggies placed third at the MW Championships with 79 points.
Chase Leach earned MW Freshman of the Year honors as he was the first freshman across the line, finishing 12th with a time of 23:50.2, also earning all-conference second-team honors in the process.
Garnica also made the all-MW second team, finishing 14th with a time of 23:54.1.
Following Friday's Mountain West Championships, the Aggies will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 11, at the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
