Cross Country’s Camren Todd Named America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men's cross country runner Camren Todd has been named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Oct. 2. The award is voted on by a state-wide media panel.

With their sponsorship of the Student-Athlete of the Week, America First Credit Union donates funds directly to support student-athlete scholarships.

Todd led Utah State to a third-place finish out of 46 teams last Friday at the Lehigh-hosted Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The senior from Kaysville, Utah, finished third overall out of 428 runners with a time of 23:07.4 in the Men's College Gold 8K race. As a team, the Aggies finished with 105 points, beating 17th-ranked Georgetown in the process.

The Aggies return to action on Friday, Oct. 7, at 3 p.m., when they host their second home meet of the season, the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational on the Steve and Dona Reeder Cross Country Course.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY – 
Sophomore Ana Weaver (Stillwater, Minnesota) led Utah State to a fourth-place finish out of 46 teams at the Lehigh-hosted Paul Short Run last weekend in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Weaver was the first Aggie runner to cross the finish line as she placed 13th overall out of 427 teams with a time of 19:56.5. As a team, the Aggies finished with 191 points, beating 16th-ranked Utah Valley in the process.

FOOTBALL – Graduate senior wide receiver Brian Cobbs (Alexandria, Virginia) had a career-high 10 receptions for 96 yards and a career-best two touchdowns in Utah State's 38-26 loss at No. 19 BYU last week.

SOCCER – Junior Alex Day (Chino Hills, California) scored one goal in 163 minutes of playing time as Utah State posted an 0-1-1 Mountain West record last week with a 2-1 loss at Wyoming and a 2-2 draw at Colorado State. Day opened the scoring versus the Rams, netting a goal from over 30 yards out in the fifth minute of the contest. Day recorded 86 minutes of playing time in the contest to help the Aggies earn the draw and a point in the conference standings.

VOLLEYBALL – Junior outside hitter Tatum Stall (Chandler, Arizona) had 24 kills, averaging 3.43 per set, as Utah State posted a 1-1 Mountain West record with a 3-0 sweep at Nevada and 3-1 loss at San José State last weekend. Stall finished the week with a team-best 26.0 points, to go along with two blocks, one assist and one ace. She posted double-digit kills against both Nevada and San José State with 13 and 11, respectively, while hitting .400 against the Wolf Pack. She nearly posted a double-double against Nevada with eight digs.

MEN'S TENNIS – Junior Stijn Paardekooper (Voorburg, Netherlands) went 8-0 across both doubles and singles play, capturing group titles in the Singles White Draw and the Doubles Utah Draw, as Utah State competed in the Utah Invitational last week. Playing alongside Sergi Micó Fenollar in doubles, the duo defeated teams from Weber State, Montana and Idaho State. In singles action. Paardekooper posted wins against individuals from Utah, Montana and Weber State.

WOMEN'S TENNIS – Graduate senior Monique Burton (Sydney, Australia) led Utah State at the Colorado State-hosted Jon Messick Invitational last week with a 6-2 overall mark after going 3-1 in both singles and doubles play. Burton competed in the main draw of both singles and doubles, earning the 6-3 first round victory with junior Lisa Küng. Burton and Küng lost in the quarterfinals, but then dropped just one game during their two Flight A consolation doubles matches. In singles action, Burton advanced all the way to the Flight A main draw semifinals.
