LOGAN, Utah – For just the fourth time in program history, and first since 2020, Utah State's men's cross country team was selected to participate in the NCAA Division I National Championships.

Utah State earned an at-large berth, announced during the NCAA DI selection show on Saturday afternoon. The top-two, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the nine regions, for a total of 18 teams. Thirteen additional teams were selected at-large, including the Aggies.

Utah State will join two other programs from the Mountain West (Air Force and Colorado State) at the national championships on Saturday, Nov. 19, on the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The Aggies placed seventh with 174 points in the 10-kilometer race at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships, which were held Friday on the UNM North Golf Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Junior Yonas Mogos led the way for Utah State as he placed 23rd with a time of 28:25.3 to earn all-region honors.

For the Aggies women, Friday did not turn out the way they had hoped. Utah State needed to beat in-state rival Utah Valley to advance as a team to the NCAA Championships, but came up short in that quest. The Wolverines placed seventh with 164 points – three better than USU, which finished eighth.

However, sophomore Ana Weaver and senior Mica Rivera will represent the Aggies as individuals at the NCAA Championships. That duo earned all-region honors on Friday as Weaver placed 16th with a time of 20:32.7 and Rivera finished 22nd with a time of 20:40.5.
