• Utah State football (5-5, 4-2 MW) continues Mountain West play this weekend as it hosts San José State (6-3, 4-2 MW) in its home finale on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 7:45 p.m. USU is 19-20-1 all-time against SJSU, including an 11-8 record at home. The game will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 (Xfinity Ch. 265/691 HD, DISH Ch. 150, DirecTV Ch. 219).

• Junior quarterback Cooper Legas had a career high 238 passing yards and a career-best three touchdowns, graduate senior running Calvin Tyler Jr., had 163 all-purpose yards and two scores, and redshirt freshman safety Ike Larsen intercepted a career-high two passes, returning one for a touchdown, in Utah State's 41-34 Mountain West win at Hawai'i last weekend. Legas was 16-of-24 passing and threw all three of his touchdowns in the first half as USU held a 24-10 lead at the break. Tyler posted his fifth 100-yard rushing game of the season and the ninth of his career as he gained 113 yards on 25 carries and scored on a 4-yard run in the third quarter to give the visitors a 31-17 lead. Tyler also had a career-high-tying three receptions for a career-best 50 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Utah State finished the game with 374 yards of total offense (136 rushing, 238 passing), but managed just 74 yards in the second half, including negative four yards in the fourth quarter. Graduate senior wide receiver Brian Cobbs led USU with 74 receiving yards on five catches. Hawai'i had 541 yards of offense (235 rushing, 306 passing), including 275 yards in the fourth quarter alone. However, the Rainbow Warriors committed four turnovers in the game with three interceptions and a fumble and were penalized 10 times for 115 yards. Defensively, graduate senior safety Hunter Reynolds had a team-high nine tackles and an interception. Larsen finished with six tackles, including a game-high 2.0 tackles for loss, one of which was a sack, and two interceptions. And, junior cornerback Jamie Nance recovered his third fumble in as many games, all via muffed punts, which led to a USU field goal.

• Utah State men's basketball (2-0, 0-0 MW) continues its 2022-23 campaign this week as it hosts Santa Clara (2-0, 0-0 WCC) on Monday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m., and plays at San Diego (3-0, 0-0 WCC) on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 8 p.m. (MT). All-time, the Aggies are 6-3 against the Broncos and 2-0 against the Toreros. • Utah State posted a 2-0 home record last week with a 75-58 win against Utah Valley and an 84-62 win against Bradley. Against the Wolverines, USU shot 45.3 percent from the field (29-of-64), including 42.1 percent from the free throw line (8-of-19), and 56.3 percent from the charity stripe (9-of-16). Defensively, the Aggies limited UVU to just 32.8 percent shooting from the field (20-of-61), including 15.8 percent from the charity stripe (3-of-19), and 75.0 percent from the free throw line (15-of-20). Senior guard Sean Bairstow paced three Aggies in double-figure scoring with 19 points, while graduate senior forward Taylor Funk chipped in 18 points and junior guard Max Shulga added 14 points. Against the Braves, USU shot 44.6 percent (25-of-56) from the field, including a 3-point shooting rate of 45.8 percent (11-of-24), and 85.2 percent (23-of-27) from the charity stripe. On the defensive front, the Aggies held the Braves to 34.5 percent (20-of-58) shooting from the field, including 34.8 percent (8-of-23) from behind the arc, and 63.6 percent (14-of-22) from the free throw line. Junior guard Steven Ashworth scored a career-high 28 points, while three forwards scored in double figures as sophomore Zee Hamoda had 15 points, Funk had 13 points and graduate forward Dan Akin had 10 points.

• Utah State volleyball (19-8, 11-5 MW) concludes its regular season on the road this week as it plays at New Mexico (16-10, 7-9 MW) on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 6:30 p.m., and at Air Force (13-15, 5-11 MW) on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. All-time, the Aggies are 12-5 against the Lobos and 14-23 against the Falcons. • Utah State went undefeated at home last week with a 3-2 win against San José State and 3-0 win against Nevada. Against the Spartans, USU hit .188 (60-30-160), while SJSU hit .220 (62-27-159). Junior outside hitter Tatum Stall led the Aggies with 17 kills, while redshirt sophomore libero Jordi Holdaway had 14 digs. Senior outside hitter Shelby Capllonch logged a double-double of 15 kills and 11 digs, and senior middle blocker Kennedi Boyd added 10 kills and a team-high five blocks. Both USU setters finished with over 20 assists as sophomore Beatriz Rodrigues had 26 and freshman Leah Wilton-LaBoy had 21. USU never trailed against Nevada as three Aggies logged 10 kills in graduate opposite hitter Emilee Turner, senior opposite Kylee Stokes and Capllonch. Utah State recorded its best hitting percentage of the season with a .406 mark (53-12-101), as five Aggies hit above .350 in Boyd (.615), graduate middle blocker Myrthe Maring (.571), Stall (.421), Stokes (.412) and Turner (.350). Both USU setters gave out over 20 assists as Rodrigues had 24 and Wilton-LaBoy had 21. Defensively, Capllonch logged her second-straight double-double with a match-best 11 digs, while Turner and Boyd each had a match-high-tying four blocks. The Aggie defense held the Wolf Pack to a .119 (22-12-84) hitting percentage, including a -.034 mark in set one.

• Utah State's women's basketball (1-1, 0-0 MW) continues its 2022-23 season this week with a pair of road games as it plays at Utah Tech (1-1) on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m., and at Arkansas State (0-1) on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. (MT). USU is 3-1 all-time against the Trailblazers and 1-0 all-time against the Red Wolves.

• Utah State posted a 1-1 home record last week with a 75-58 win against College of Idaho and a 78-68 loss to Southeastern Louisiana. Against the Yotes, sophomore guard Cristina Oliva had a team-high 18 points, while graduate senior guard Maria Carvalho had 16 points and nine rebounds. Graduate senior guard Mayson Kimball and graduate senior forward Prima Chellis each added 10 points. USU finished the game shooting 38.2 percent (26-of-68), including 39.1 percent from 3-point range (9-of-23), and 66.7 percent at the free throw line (14-of-21). The Yotes shot 40.4 percent (23-of-57), including 26.3 percent from behind the arc (5-of-19), and 63.6 percent at the charity stripe (7-of-11). Against the Lions, Kimball scored 24 points, Carvalho had 17 points and junior guard Olivia Wikstrom finished with 10 points. USU shot 45.1 percent (23-of-51), including 50.0 percent from 3-point range (8-of-16) and 63.6 percent at the free throw line (14-of-22). The Lions shot 50.8 percent (30-of-59), including 50.0 percent from behind the arc (5-of-10), and 92.9 percent at the charity stripe (13-of-14).

• Utah State's cross country teams will conclude their postseason this weekend at the NCAA Championships in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on Saturday, Nov. 19. The Aggie men earned an at-large bid as a team, while senior Mica Rivera and sophomore Ana Weaver will represent the Aggie women as individuals.

• Utah State's men's cross country team placed seventh with 174 points in the 10-kilometer race and the women finished eighth in the 6K race with 167 points at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships, held last weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Junior Yonas Mogos led the men as he placed 23rd with a time of 28:25.3 to earn all-region honors. On the women's side, sophomore Ana Weaver placed 16th with a time of 20:32.7 and senior Mica Rivera finished 22nd with a time of 20:40.5 as the duo earned all-region honors. Mark Crandall was the second scoring runner for Utah State's men's team as the senior placed 33rd with a time of 28:41.4. Graduate senior Darren Harman finished in 40th place with a time of 28:58.0 and junior Max Wehrli placed 48th with a time of 29:13.9. Camren Todd rounded out the Aggies' five scorers as the senior finished in 54th place with a time of 29:20.3. Following Weaver and Rivera on the women's side was senior Abby Jensen in 28th (20:50.3), sophomore Emma Thornley in 51st (21:12.9) and senior Bailey Brinkerhoff in 52nd (21:15.5).

NTS --- at CS Northridge Invite
• Utah State competed at the CS Northridge-hosted Fall Invitational last week as the Aggies posted a combined 7-2 record in doubles play, including sweeps over Pacific and UC Irvine, and went 5-13 in singles play with five different student-athletes logging a singles win. Graduate senior Annaliese County and senior Zeynep Naz Ozturk led the Aggies as the duo were a perfect 3-0 in doubles play, while each picked up a singles win.
