MISSOULA, Montana — Utah State women's tennis won on the road at Montana, 6-1, Friday at the Peak Racquet Club. The win was USU's first road victory over the Grizzlies and fourth straight victory overall versus Montana.
 
The Aggies started strong in doubles play, quickly claiming a 1-0 advantage with two victories at the second and third positions. Juniors Zeynep Naz Ozturk and Carolina Millan won, 6-4, on court two while senior Annaliese County and Lisa Kung won, 6-3, at the third spot.
 
In singles play, USU continued to control the match, amassing four straight-set victories across the six matches. Naz Ozturk completed an undefeated day with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Lauren Dunlap. Millan matched the performance of her doubles partner with a 6-0, 7-5 win at the second position over Olivia Oosterbaan. Junior Zara Ryan clinched the match for Utah State at the fourth position, winning in a second-set tiebreak over Maria Goheen, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). 
 
Playing the remaining matches to completion, Kung fell to Montana's Grace Haugen, 6-4, 3-6, 6-0, to put the Grizzlies on the board. Seniors Annaliese County and Gabrielle Dekkers then punctuated the match with victories at the fifth and sixth position, respectively. County defeated UM's Ivayla Mitkova, 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5), while Dekkers bested Claudia Reguant, 6-3, 6-3.
 
USU has now won three straight matches, including two on the road, after dropping their season opener. The Aggies will look to extend their streak tomorrow in a neutral site match versus Portland to be held in Missoula, Montana, at 10 a.m. (MT).
