Box Score LOGAN, Utah — Utah State women's tennis opened their spring season with a 4-3 loss to Idaho State on Saturday at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club.
 
The Aggies' troubles started in doubles play as the Bengals captured the doubles point with victories on courts one and three. Redshirt junior Sidnee Lavatai teamed up with sophomore Lisa Küng for USU's lone win of doubles play, 6-3, over ISU's Lola and Sol O'Lideadha.
 
In singles play, the Aggies came back to take a 2-1 lead following victories by Küng over Lola O'Lideadha, 6-2, 6-1, and junior Carolina Millan over Hana Cho, 6-3, 6-3. Idaho State then recaptured a 3-2 advantage as Megan Lang-Gould defeated USU's Zeynep Naz Ozturk, 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 6-4, and Sol O'Lideadha defeated junior Zara Ryan, 6-4, 6-3.
 
In the four-spot, senior Annaliese County squared the match at 3 apiece with a comeback 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 win over ISU's Leah Kuruvilla. In the deciding match, senior Gabrielle Dekkers won the second-set tiebreaker but was unable to clinch the match in the third set, losing to Alexandra Arkhipov, 7-5, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3.
 
Utah State will look to rebound as they head out on the road for their next match at Dixie State on Friday, February 11. The match is currently scheduled for 11 am (MT).
