• Utah State softball (21-17, 7-2 MW) host Nevada (12-28, 2-10 MW) in a three-game Mountain West series on Thursday, April 14, at 4 p.m., Friday, April 15, at 4 p.m., and Saturday, April 16, at noon. USU is 25-34 all-time against the Wolf Pack. Fans can watch every game via the Mountain West Network, streaming online at www.utahstateaggies.com/watch.

• Utah State posted a 1-2 Mountain West record last weekend in a three-game series at Fresno State (W, 9-3; L, 2-10; L, 3-4). Four Aggies saw time in the circle, combining for an ERA of 2.85. The USU pitching staff allowed 26 hits and eight earned runs, while striking out 13 batters and walking nine. Sophomore second baseman Zaia Castruita led USU at the plate with a batting average of .444 (4-of-9). As a team, USU hit .159 (13-of-82), including three doubles and one home run. Junior first baseman Makenzie Macfarlane led the team defensively with 23 putouts and one assist.

• Utah State women's tennis (6-9, 1-5 MW) continues Mountain West play this weekend with a pair of matches in Laramie, Wyoming, as it faces Wyoming (5-11, 2-4 MW) on Friday, April 15, at 10 a.m., and Colorado State (9-7, 4-2 MW) on Saturday, April 16, at 2 p.m.

• Utah State posted a 1-1 Mountain West home record last week with a 4-3 win against Air Force and a 4-0 loss to New Mexico. Against the Falcons, USU won the doubles point as junior Zeynep Naz Ozturk and sophomore Lisa Küng posted a 6-4 win at the second position, while senior Annaliese County and junior Carolina Millan notched a 6-4 win at the third position. In singles play, Millan won in three-sets at the No. 2 spot (2-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5). Junior Zara Ryan won in straight sets at the No. 3 spot (6-2, 6-0). And senior Gabrielle Dekkers won in three-sets at No. 6 singles (1-6, 6-4, 6-4). Against the Lobos, County and Millan posted a 6-1 win at the third doubles position.

• Utah State men's and women's outdoor track & field teams continue their respective seasons on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 14-16, at it competes in the Long Beach State Invitational and the Mt. SAC Relays, which will be held in Walnut, California.

• Utah State won 23 titles, including 14 from the Aggie women, last weekend at its own Aggie Invitational. Sophomore Maren Garnett won the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.95 meters (12-11.50), which ranks fourth all-time in school history. Sophomore Gia Malone won the long jump with a mark of 5.85 meters (19-2.50), which ranks ninth all-time in school history, and won the high jump with a mark of 1.65 meters (5-5.00). Junior Jordan Brandt took first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.40. Sophomore Olivia Smith also placed first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.47. Sophomore Hannah Davidson won the 800 meters with a time of 2:13.68. Sophomore Taylia Norris took the victory in the 1,500 meters, finishing in 4:37.39. Junior Megan Terry then won the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:26.70. USU also swept the relay events as sophomores Abbey Bryant and Autumn Kidd, plus freshmen Alison Richter and Darcy Jackson won the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 47.57. In the 4x400-meter relay, Kidd, juniors Alexis Koetitz and Jordan Brandt, plus sophomore Delphine Dah took first with a time of 3:53.31. Sophomore Sidnee Naerebout won the triple jump with a mark of 11.52 meters (37-9.50). Senior Jenny Bitner-Rogers took home victory in the javelin with a throw of 43.21 meters (141-9). Senior Maia Garren won the shot put, posting a mark of 15.83 meters (51-11.25). And junior Tori Bailey won the discus with a mark of 50.02 meters (164-1). On the men's side, junior Zach Meyer won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.14, which ranks sixth all-time in school history. Junior Dominic Bentil posted victories in the 200 meters and the 400 meters with times of 21.16 and 47.33, respectively. Junior Christopher Kauffman also won the 800 meters with a time of 1:52.57. Sophomore Brennan Benson continued USU's excellent performance on the track with a time of 3:50.59 to win the 1,500 meters. Freshman Walker Cole then won the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:29.32. Junior Carter Lamb, freshman Johnny Cruz, junior Caden Dupee and senior Zack Bell led the Aggies to a victory in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:21.02. And sophomore Gavin Beierle won the shot put with a mark of 17.18 meters (56-4.50).

• Utah State men's tennis (8-10, 2-1 MW) continues Mountain West play this weekend as it hosts Boise State (13-8, 2-2 MW) in its home finale on Saturday, April 16, at 11 a.m., at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club.

W, 4-3 --- at San Diego State
• Utah State posted a 4-3 Mountain West win at San Diego State in its only match last week. After losing the doubles point, junior Roko Savin tied the match at 1-1 with a straight sets win at No. 5 singles (6-0, 6-1). SDSU then won the next two matches at Nos. 1 and 6 singles to take a 3-1 lead. USU then won the final three matches for the victory. Senior Felipe Acosta sparked the comeback with a straight sets win at No. 4 singles (7-5, 6-0). Junior David Cierny then tied the match with a three-sets win at No. 2 singles (6-2, 2-6, 6-3). And freshman Sergi Micó Fenollar completed USU's comeback with a three-sets win at No. 3 singles (6-3, 4-6, 7-5).

Mon.-Tue., April 11-12 --- at UC Santa Barbara Invite, All Day
• Utah State's golf team continues its 2022 spring season on Monday and Tuesday, April 11-12, at the UC Santa Barbara Collegiate Invitational. The field of 14 teams will play two 18-hole rounds on Monday and a final 18-hole round on Tuesday at the picturesque 7,040-yard, par-72 Sandpiper Golf Club.

• Utah State placed 22nd at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, which was contested last week at Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, Arizona. The Aggies posted a 54-hole score of 15-over 879 (293-289-297) at the 7,334-yard, par-72 Cattail Course. Javier Vazquez led Utah State as the sophomore tied for 40th at even-par 216, which included a career-low-tying 3-under 69 in the opening round. Freshman Esteban Jaramillo tied for 83rd at 5-over 221, while senior Cameron Tucker and sophomore John Cook tied for 89th at 6-over 222. Rounding out the competitors for the Aggies was freshman Luis Gerardo Cantu, who tied for 106th at 9-over 225.
