LARAMIE, Wyoming — Utah State women's tennis lost to Wyoming, 4-1, on Friday at the UW Tennis Complex.
 
Utah State dominated doubles play to start the match as junior Zeynep Naz Ozturk and sophomore Lisa Kung won, 6-4, at the first position. Senior Gabrielle Dekkers and junior Sidnee Lavatai then won, 6-4, at the No. 2-spot to clinch the doubles point for the Aggies. Senior Annaliese County and junior Carolina Millan were also ahead, 5-3, before their doubles match was suspended.
 
USU's momentum was halted in singles play, however, as the Cowgirls won at each of the top four spots of singles play to score the comeback victory for Wyoming. At the time of clinch, Naz Ozturk was tied at one set apiece heading into the final frame at the fifth position while Dekkers held a narrow 2-1 advantage in the second set after dropping the opening frame at the No. 6-spot.
 
Utah State faces a quick turnaround as the Aggies will play a neutral match versus Colorado State tomorrow, Saturday, April 16, at 2 p.m. (MT) in Laramie.
