Utah State Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams Stay Put in Latest Rankings

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's track & field teams retained a third-place ranking in the Mountain West in the latest USTFCCCA rankings, also ranking 13th in the Mountain region. The women remained ranked fourth in the MW and 11th in the region.
 
In the men's regional rankings, the top three remained unchanged with Texas Tech, BYU and Northern Arizona taking the top three spots. Colorado State jumped to fourth with Air Force rounding out the top five. The Rams also jumped one spot in the women's regional rankings to join Texas Tech and BYU in the top three. Colorado and New Mexico took spots four and five, respectively.
 
In the men's conference rankings, the top three in the MW remained unchanged with Air Force, Colorado State and Utah State maintaining their positions at the top of the conference. On the women's side, Colorado State jumped San Diego State for the top spot in the rankings. New Mexico edged out USU for the final spot in the top three.
 
The Aggies also remain ranked in the top 25 in seven individual events. The Aggie women rank in the top 25 in both the 110-meter hurdles (24th) and 400-meter hurdles (20th). USU also has two throwing squads in the top 25 in the javelin (14th) and the discus throw (21st). The women are also responsible for USU's highest squad ranking at 10th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. On the men's side, the 3,000-meter steeplechase is also the highest ranking for USU at 11th. The men also rose to 23rd in the nation in the men's shot put.
 
Utah State men's and women's outdoor track & field teams are set to continue the outdoor season on Friday and Saturday, April 29-30, at the Idaho State-hosted Bengal Invitational in Pocatello, Idaho, and at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
