LOGAN, Utah – Utah State Athletics is partnering with Opendorse to help enhance name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities for its student-athletes, it was announced Thursday by USU Vice President and Director of Athletics
John Hartwell.
"We are excited to partner with Opendorse to provide a platform for all of our student-athletes to connect with a large number of entities that have Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities available," said USU Vice President and Director of Athletics
John Hartwell. "The platform also allows for individuals and companies who have an affinity for Utah State Athletics a vehicle to engage our student-athletes about potential NIL deals.
"While the parameters of NIL continue to evolve, one thing that is certain is that NIL is not going away. Our partnership with Opendorse gives all of our student-athletes the opportunity to market themselves for NIL deals. This not only creates a potential current income source for our student-athletes, it also gives them exposure to business skills such as marketing and personal finance that will serve them well in life beyond Aggie Athletics."
Opendorse is the leading technology provider in the athlete endorsement industry. More than 75,000 athletes use Opendorse to understand, build and monetize their NIL with support from thousands of brands, fans, sponsors, donors and partners.
Opendorse also maximizes NIL value for student-athletes, while delivering security and simplicity for all involved parties.
Student-athletes from all 16 Aggie sports programs will have the opportunity to create, develop and build their individual Opendorse profile customized to their various interests, needs and types of projects they are pursuing, which also includes their social media channels and other NIL endeavors they are involved with.
Within the Opendorse app, student-athletes can review opportunities, receive deals, accept compensation and disclose NIL activities to their institution.
In addition to the NIL marketplace, Utah State student-athletes will receive full access to Opendorse's all-in-one NIL platform, providing best-in-class compliance, content and education tools.
Compliance: upon completing NIL deals, athletes can automatically disclose activity details to their institution to ensure eligibility.
Content: athletes receive on-demand access to share photos and videos from games, practices and more. Athletes can also receive content suggestions from their teams, encouraging fan engagement, fundraising initiatives, ticket sales and more.
Education: athletes receive in-person and on-demand virtual education sessions from industry leaders at companies including Meta, Overtime, Players' Tribune, Opendorse and more.
