LOGAN, Utah - Utah State track & field placed in the top 25 in the nation for six individual events in the latest USTFCCCA rankings, highlighted by a fourth-place ranking in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase.
 
USU's women's steeplechase squad is comprised of senior Katie Haviland (10:12.2, 33rd in the nation), junior Abby Jensen (10.25.6, 83rd), senior Mica Rivera (10:28.4, 91st) and junior Bailey Brinkerhoff (10:36.9).
 
The women also rank in the top 25 in the nation in the javelin (15th), 400-meter hurdles (21st) and the discus (21st). On the men's side, Utah State ranks 14th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 20th in the shot put.
 
In the team rankings, the Aggies held steady in the Mountain West rankings with the men ranking third and the women fourth. The women also remained in 11th in the Mountain region rankings while the men slipped to 14th.
 
Utah State men's and women's outdoor track & field teams are now preparing for the Mountain West Outdoor Championships starting on Wednesday, May 11 and running through Saturday, May 14. The Aggie men finished third at last year's championships, while the women placed seventh.
