Utah State Track & Field Concludes Stay at NCAA West Preliminaries

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — Utah State track & field completed their week at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships on Saturday at John McDonnell Field. Senior Katie Haviland and junior Abby Jensen competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase while junior Tori Bailey took part in the discus.

Making her first career appearance at the West Prelims, Jensen recorded USU's best finish of the day as she placed 17th overall in the steeplechase with a time of 10:17.27. Close behind, Haviland recorded a top-25 finish in the steeplechase for the second year in a row, placing 20th with a time of 10:22.87.

In the discus, Bailey also made her career debut at the West Prelims but did not record a mark in the competition.
