LOGAN, Utah – Utah State women's tennis will open its 2022 fall campaign this week at the Air Force-hosted ITA Bedford Cup in the Mountains from Thursday, Sept. 15, to Sunday, Sept. 18, in USAFA, Colorado.
The Aggies will take on a field of nine teams, including Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Colorado State, Denver, Idaho, Idaho State, New Mexico State and Weber State.
The tournament opens with doubles play on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 4 p.m. There will then be one round of doubles and two rounds of singles on Friday, Sept. 16, followed by two rounds of doubles and one round of singles on Saturday, Sept. 17. Action on both days will begin at 9 a.m. The ITA Bedford Cup concludes Sunday, Sept. 18, with a round of double and round of singles again, starting at 9 a.m.
Utah State returns four letterwinners from last year's team in graduate
Annaliese County, redshirt senior
Sidnee Lavatai, senior
Zeynep Naz Ozturk and junior
Lisa Küng. County ranks 28th all-time with 31 total wins in a single season, while Küng ranks 48th with 26 combined wins. In singles action last season, County and Küng were second and third on the team with 16 and 14 wins, respectively. County and Ozturk were tied for second in doubles play with 15 wins apiece. County tied for the team lead with six doubles wins in Mountain West action.
