LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's student-athletes enjoyed another exceptional semester in the classroom this past fall, recording a 3.28 grade point average (GPA) across 16 varsity programs, the department announced Thursday.
Overall, USU's student-athletes now boast a 3.36 cumulative GPA to tie a department record that was first set in the spring of 2020. It is also the 41st consecutive semester that USU student-athletes have earned a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA, which dates to the fall of 2002.
During the fall 2022 semester, female student-athletes earned a term GPA of 3.53 and a record-high cumulative GPA of 3.56, bettering the previous mark of 3.52 set during the fall of 2021. On the men's side, Aggie student-athletes earned a term GPA of 3.03 and a cumulative GPA of 3.17.
Of the 360 student-athletes at Utah State, 253 of them (70.3 percent) boasted a 3.0 GPA or higher. Furthermore, 49 student-athletes earned Dean's List honors, which recognizes students who have achieved at least a 3.50 GPA in 15 or more graded credits.
And finally, 33 different Aggies have competed in their respective sport while enrolled in graduate school or pursuing a second baccalaureate program.
