LINCOLN, Nebraska – Utah State women's tennis was defeated on the road by Nebraska, 4-0, on Sunday to finish off the opening weekend of the dual match season.  

The Aggies fell behind in doubles play with losses at the first and second positions. Senior Lisa Küng and graduate student Annaliese County were tied 5-5 on court 3 when their match was suspended.  

In singles play, the Cornhuskers took the match by earning points at the second, fifth, and sixth positions. Nebraska's Ana Zamburek defeated Lisa Küng on court two, 6-4, 6-1, while Lucy Loy defeated Magdalena Nunez Pureco, 6-4, 6-2, and Jillian Roa defeated Sidnee Lavatai, 6-1, 6-3, to clinch the match.  

In the first position, Senior Zeynep Naz Ozturk's match was suspended when she was up 6-2, 4-5. Graduate student Monique Burton was tied with her opponent on court three and Laura Fernanda Eugenio De Hilario trailed, 5-7, 1-4 before their matches were left unfinished.   

The Aggies continue their season on the road at Idaho State on Saturday, Feb. 4, before their first home match on Sunday, February 5, at 10 am (MT) versus Utah Tech.
