LOGAN, Utah – Utah State track & field's Logan Hammer has been tabbed the Mountain West Men's Freshman of the Week, it was announced Tuesday by the conference office.

Hammer, a native of Nampa, Idaho, won the pole vault at the Idaho State-hosted Stacy Dragila Invitational on Saturday. Hammer's mark of 5.05 meters (16-6.75) is tied for ninth all-time in the pole vault at Utah State and ranks second among all MW athletes this season. The product of Columbia HS now ranks 10th among all freshmen, nationally, in the pole vault.

Utah State's indoor track & field teams continue their 2023 season this weekend, hosting the Utah State Speed and Power Meet on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the George Nelson Fieldhouse. Field events will begin at 9:30 a.m., while running events will start at 10 a.m.
