LOGAN, Utah – Utah State women's tennis lost to Boise State, 4-2, at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club for their first home loss of the season on Thursday.
The Aggies earned the early lead by securing the doubles point via wins by graduate student Monique Burton and junior Lisa Küng on court one, 6-4, and redshirt senior Sidnee Lavatai and senior Zeynep Naz Ozturk on court two, 7-5.
In singles play, Küng earned USU's second point of the day at the second spot in a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 victory.
Ozturk and Burton both put up a fight on courts one and three by forcing a third set. Ozturk's match came down to a tiebreak in which she was defeated.
Graduate Student Annaliese County's match was suspended while she was ahead 6-4, 0-1 due to the Broncos scoring their fourth point of the match.
Utah State (6-13, 1-8 MW) is back at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club to celebrate Senior Day against Fresno State (9-11, 3-5 MW) on Saturday, April 22, at 11 a.m.
