LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Utah State women's tennis lost to No. 6-seeded Boise State, 4-0, in the first round of the Mountain West Championships on Wednesday. The Aggies finish the season with a 7-14 record. 

In doubles play, graduate student Monique Burton and junior Lisa Küng's match was left unfinished at the No. 1 spot for USU as Boise State won on courts two and three and took the early 1-0 lead. 

In singles play, graduate seniors Annaliese County and Monique Burton earned first-set victories for USU. However, both Aggies had their matches abandoned while ahead in the second set as the Broncos clinched the win with victories at the first, second and fifth positions. County led, 7-6 (9), 5-1, at the time of clinch, while Burton was ahead, 7-5, 4-3. 

Burton led the Aggies in 2023 with 14 total wins across the fall tournament and dual match seasons. In Utah State's all-time records, County ranks sixth in total singles wins and doubles wins with 59. Redshirt senior Sidnee Lavatai finishes her career at 15th for total singles wins and 11th in all-time doubles wins with 37 and 43, respectively. This was the pair's final match after five total seasons at Utah State.
