COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – Utah State women's tennis fell, 4-2, to Air Force in a conference match on Saturday.
Graduate student Monique Burton and junior Lisa Küng kicked off the day for the Aggies with a doubles victory on court one. However, the team suffered defeats on the second and third courts, which resulted in the Falcons earning the first point of the match.
In singles play, Küng and Burton were the only Aggies to earn points.
At the No. 2 spot, Küng posted a 6-0, 7-5 straight-sets win over the Falcon's Isabella Flodin.
In the third position, Burton also took a straight-sets win posting 6-1, 6-2 over her Air Force opponent.
On court one, senior Zeynep Naz Ozturk match was left unfinished as Air Force sealed the victory. Naz Ozturk led, 4-6, 6-3, 5-4, at the time of clinch.
Utah State (5-11, 0-6 MW) will travel to Boise, Idaho to continue Mountain West play as they face Colorado State (13-5, 2-3 MW) on Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. (MT) and Wyoming (10-9, 5-1 MW) on Sunday, April 16, at 10 a.m. (MT).
