SACRAMENTO, California – Utah State track & field continues its week at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships with six Aggie women taking part in the competition on Thursday.

USU's day began with the duo of junior Djamilliah Paepke-Chile and sophomore Valerie making their first appearances at the Prelims in the javelin. Paepke-Chile placed 28th with a throw of 46.45 meters (152-4), while Clark finished 39th with a mark of 43.91 meters (144-0).

A pair of juniors then represented the Aggies on the track, as Abbey Bryant placed 41st in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.04, and Mattie Geddes finished 46th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:10.33. Both Bryant and Geddes were making their first career appearance at the prelims.

Utah State's final competitors of the day were graduate senior Mica Rivera and sophomore Ana Weaver in the 10,000 meters. Rivera, in her second appearance in the 10,000 meters at the prelims, placed 16th with a time of 33:14.18. Weaver made her career debut at the prelims and placed 19th with a time of 33:23.81

Utah State's week at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships continues on Friday with five Aggies taking part in four events. Junior Kelton Chenworth is set to compete in the high jump at 3:30 p.m. (MT). Junior Brennan Benson returns to competition in the quarterfinals of the 1,500 meters at 6:15 p.m. (MT) after qualifying out of Wednesday's first round. Senior Mark Crandall and junior Max Wehrli will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 6:40 p.m. (MT), and senior Spencer Nelson will conclude USU's day in the 5,000 meters at 9:10 p.m. (MT). The prelims are available for streaming all weekend through ESPN+.
