LOGAN, Utah – Utah State Vice President and Director of Athletics Diana Sabau has been appointed as a board member for the John McLendon Minority Scholarship Foundation.
Sabau is one of 11 new board members appointed for the upcoming academic year, along with:

• Jean Boyd, Deputy Athletics Director at Arizona State University
• Andy Danner, Chief Executive Officer at G3 Marketing | ProCamps
• Luke Fedlam, Partner at Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP
• Ashton Henderson, Deputy Athletics Director/Championship Resources at Michigan State
• Marcus Hilliard, Senior Associate Athletics Director/Chief of Staff at University of Tennessee
• Felicia Martin, Senior Vice President of Inclusion, Education and Community Engagement at NCAA
• Erik Moses, Executive Director/CEO at Fiesta Bowl Organization
• Tony Munafo, President and CEO at ProLink
• Jim Murphy, Senior Director of NCAA Sports Marketing at adidas
• Mike Ondrejko, President of Legends Global Sales
The 12 incoming board members will be joined by five returning board members.
Sabau is in her first year at Utah State, officially starting on Aug. 21. Prior to becoming the Aggies' 12th athletics director, she most recently serving as deputy commissioner and chief sports officer for the Big Ten Conference, overseeing the administration of all 28 of the conference's sponsored sports.
As the chief sports officer with the Big Ten, Sabau provided swift counsel and measured guidance to the conference commissioner and departmental oversight of football administration, basketball administration, hockey administration, Olympic sports administration and officiating administration.
Sabau has also had extensive leadership roles in college athletics prior to joining the Big Ten, most recently as senior deputy athletics director at Ohio State, where she served as sport administrator for football, women's ice hockey and the co-ed rifle and pistol programs.
During her four years as sport administrator for Ohio State's football team, the Buckeyes won four-consecutive Big Ten championships, participated in the college football playoffs, and garnered accolades and achievements of considerable national attention.
Sabau has a master's in sports administration from Ohio University, a bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure, and she attended Oxford University, Somerville College. She and her husband, Jamie, have two children.
