LOGAN, Utah – Utah State cross country runners
Drew Hogan and
Natalie Swain have been named the Mountain West Male and Female Freshmen of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
This is the first weekly honor from the MW for both Hogan and Swain, as both the Aggie men and women opened the season with impressive showings at the Utah State-hosted Sagebrush Invitational, held last Saturday on the Steve and Dona Reeder Cross Country Course.
On the women's side, Swain led USU with a third-place finish and a time of 18:33, helping the Aggies to a first-place team finish with 29 points. Westminster placed second with 129 points.
For the men, Hogan was the second Aggie across the line, placing third with a time of 21:31 as USU won the event with 20 points to defeat Utah Valley (106).
Next up, the Aggies are set to race in the 2024 NCAA Mountain Regional Preview on Monday, Sept. 18, in Reno, Nevada.
