Utah State Golf Finishes in Third Place at Monterrey Collegiate Classic

MONTERREY, Mexico Utah State's golf team shot a 54-hole season-best 15-under 849 (285-281-283) to place third at the Monterrey Collegiate Classic.
 
For Utah State, it is the fourth straight tournament this fall that it has finished under par and the third time it has placed in the top three. In all, the Aggies concluded its fall schedule with four top 10 finishes in five tournaments.
 
North Dakota State won the tournament over 11 other teams with a 26-under 838 (280-280-278) and Loyola Maryland placed second at 16-under 848 (284-282-282). UTRGV's Juan Luis Bethencourt won the individual title with a 13-under 203 (66-66-71).
 
Graduate John Cook (70-72-70) and senior Julio Arronte (71-66-75) both finished in the top 20 for Utah State as they tied for 17th place at 4-under 212. Sophomore Enrique Karg tied for 22nd at 2-under 214 (72-70-72), senior Esteban Jaramillo tied for 34th at 1-over 217 (72-74-71) and graduate Cole Enlow tied for 37th at 2-over 218 (75-73-70).
 
Cook tied his career-best 54-hole score during the tournament and now has five-career under par finishes, including three this fall. It is also his third top 20 placing this fall and the seventh of his career as he now has 21 rounds under par in his career, including seven this fall.
 
Arronte posted his fifth-straight under par finish this fall and the ninth of his career as he now has five top 20 placings this fall and 11 in his career. Arronte's 6-under 66 during his second 18 holes is tied for his best round of the fall and is his 11th round in the 60s in his career, including his fourth this fall.
 
Karg also posted a career-best 54-hole score with his 2-under 214, which is his second career under par finish. He now has eight rounds under par in his career, including three this fall, after shooting a 2-under 70 during his second 18 holes.
 
Jaramillo posted a season-best 54-hole score with his 1-over 217, which included a 1-under 71 during his final 18 holes, which is his 23rd round under par in his career, including his fourth this fall.
 
And Enlow posted the second-best 54-hole score of his career with his 2-over 218, which included a 2-under 70 during his final 18 holes as he now has three rounds under par this fall and four in his career.
 
The Monterrey Collegiate Classic concludes Utah State's fall schedule.
