Scouting the Rams

• Graduate guard McKenna Hofschild, the preseason Mountain West Player of the Year, leads the team in both scoring and assists this year with 23.0 points and 7.5 assists per game. She leads the MW in both categories, while ranking sixth and second in the NCAA in points and assists per game, respectively. Sophomore guard Hannah Ronsiek is the team's top rebounder with 6.0 boards per contest.

• The Rams average 69.8 points while allowing 61.8 points per outing.

Series History

• Utah State and San José State have met up 36 times in a series dating back to 1980.

• Utah State leads the all-time series 19-17, but SJSU has won seven of the past eight meetings.

• Last year, the Spartans swept the series, winning 77-59 in San Jose and 78-65 in Logan.

• In the first meeting this season, San José State came away with a 69-54 win in Logan, SJSU's lone win of conference play.

• Colorado State leads the all-time series 26-13, and has won eight-straight meetings.

• Last year, the Rams swept the series, winning 99-62 in Logan and 86-64 in Fort Collins.

Last Time Out

• Utah State fell short in a 90-62 loss to San Diego State on Saturday afternoon.

• A 22-point outing by junior guard Cheyenne Stubbs wasn't enough, as she hit five 3-pointers while also totaling four rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.

• The Aztecs used hot shooting throughout to secure the win, as they finished the game shooting 53.1 percent (34-of-64) from the field and 40.0 percent (10-of-25) from 3-point range.

• Sophomore forward Tiairra Hill-Brown also had a strong outing for USU, going for five points, five rebounds, an assist and a career-high five steals.

I'll Take That

In Utah State's game at San Diego State, sophomore forward Tiairra Hill-Brown was a defensive menace, coming up with five steals. This was the most steals by a USU player this season, and was the most by a USU player since Prima Chellis also had five against College of Idaho on Nov. 7, 2022.

Sami I Am

• Utah State junior guard/forward Samiana Suguturaga has seen her role increase as the season progresses, starting each of the past eight contests.

• In non-conference play, Suguturaga averaged 4.5 points and 3.1 rebounds with four total blocks. In the 14 games of Mountain West play, she has averaged 7.4 points and 4.3 boards with 12 blocked shots.

Macy Magic

USU junior guard Macy Smith had her finest performance in an Aggie uniform in the team's game against Air Force on Feb. 10. Smith led USU in scoring with a season-high 16 points, while also recording three rebounds, a team-high three assists, two steals and a block.

Block Party

Utah State freshman forward Gracie Johnson is one of just four players in program history to have three games with five or more blocks in a season. Additionally, she is just the second freshman to ever do so, joining all-time program block leader Deja Mason.

Block Party - Pt. II

• In Utah State's contest at Boise State, Johnson went off for eight blocks to tie the program's all-time single-game record. She's just the fifth player in program history to get eight rejections in a contest, and the first since Mason did so in 2016. It's also tied for eighth in Mountain West history and is the second-most ever by a MW freshman.

• Only five players in NCAA Division I have recorded more blocks in a game this season.

A Historic Mark

As a team against Boise State, the Aggies recorded 13 blocks, just one rejection shy of a program record and tied for the third-best mark in team history. Utah State currently ranks third in the Mountain West with 3.7 blocks per game.

30-Point Club

• Cheyenne Stubbs went off in Utah State's win at Nevada on Jan. 31, finishing with a career-high 32 points in the contest on 10-of-24 shooting (.417) from the floor, 2-of-8 shooting (.250) from 3-point range and 10-of-14 shooting (.714) from the charity stripe.

• Her 32 points are tied for 20th most in USU program history.

• She is just the 14th player in USU program history to score 32 or more points in a game, and is the first to do so since Shyla Latone on March 1, 2021.
