LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's gymnastics team continues its 2024 season this weekend as it travels to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to compete in a tri meet with Mountain West-foes Air Force and San José State on Friday, March 1, at 7 p.m. The meet will be streamed live on the MW Network.
Utah State has already faced both programs this year as it posted a 194.950-193.925 home win against the Falcons and a 195.925-195.725 home win against the Spartans. USU is 15-1 all-time against Air Force and 17-16 all-time versus San José State.

THE COMPETITION
Air Force (3-7, 0-4 MW) is the No. 57 team in the country with National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 194.325, which includes a 48.345 on vault to rank 61st nationally, a 48.540 on bars to rank 55th, a 48.475 on beam to rank 54th and a 48.840 on floor to rank 59th in the nation.
Individually, junior Ayla McKean is eighth in the MW and tied for 157th in the nation on bars (9.925). Freshman Clara Wallace is tied for 245th in the nation on beam (9.710). Sophomore Gianna Martyna is tied for 261st nationally on floor (9.765). And junior Gabriella Meccia is tied for 304th in the nation on vault (9.685).
San José State (7-5, 2-2 Mountain West) is ranked No. 33 in the nation with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 195.995, which includes a 48.960 on vault to rank 39th, a 48.920 on bars to rank 40th, a 48.880 on beam to rank 36th and a 49.190 on floor to rank 37th nationally.
Individually, senior Lauren Macpherson leads the MW and is tied for 37th in the nation in the all-around (39.220), and is first in the MW and tied for 46th in the nation on beam (9.865). Senior Jada Mazury is first in the MW and tied for 34th in the nation on floor (9.905), and fourth in the MW and tied for 97th in the nation on bars (9.840). And senior Madison Kirsch is first in the MW and tied for 86th in the nation on vault (9.835).

Utah State posted a season-high-tying 196.275 to place second as it hosted Boise State, Iowa State and Texas Woman's in a quad meet last weekend. USU began the meet with a 48.825 on vault, followed by a 49.000 on bars, a season-high 49.100 on beam and a season-high 49.350 on floor. Senior
Brianna Brooks led the Aggies as she won the all-around with a season-high 39.225, which included a season-high 9.850 on vault.
Utah State (6-11, 2-1 Mountain West) has a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 195.235 on the season to rank 44th in the nation, which includes a 48.820 on vault to rank 51st, a 48.880 on bars to ranks 41st, a 48.755 on beam to rank 43rd and a 48.870 on floor to rank 58th in the nation.
Individually, Brooks is second in the MW and tied for 83rd in the nation on bars (9.850), and sixth in the MW and tied for 126th in the nation on beam (9.810). Freshman
Nyla Morabito is fifth in the MW and tied for 176th in the nation on vault (9.795). And graduate
Alivia Ostendorf is fifth in the MW and tied for 128th in the nation on floor (9.855).
Ostendorf was honored by the MW this week as as she was named the MW Floor Co-Specialist of the Week after tying her career high with a 9.925 to place second on the event in last weekend's Quad Meet.
