LOGAN, Utah – Utah State graduate Alivia Ostendorf has been named the Mountain West Vault Co-Specialist of the Week it was announced Tuesday.
It is Ostendorf's second Mountain West conference honor this year as she was also named MW Floor Co-Specialist of the Week back in February. Overall, it is her fifth conference honor during her two years at Utah State as she was named the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference (MRGC) Floor Specialist of the Week twice last season and the MRGC Vault Specialist of the Week once.
Ostendorf, native of Ramsey, Minnesota scored a career-high 9.925 on vault during the Boise State-hosted tri meet last weekend to claim her fourth title on the event. That 9.925 is tied for the fourth-best vault score in school history and highest score on the event for USU since 2014.
Ostendorf's score helped USU to a 48.900 on the vault, which tied for the team's second highest score on the event this year.
After this weekend of competition, Ostendorf ranks tied for 20th in the North Central Region and tied for 136th nationally on vault.
Utah State posted a 195.950 at the Boise State Tri meet against the 26th-ranked Broncos and No. 17 Oregon State on Sunday as USU finished third.
Utah State will host the inaugural Mountain West Gymnastics Championships on Saturday, March 23rd, at 7 p.m. Joining USU in the competition will be Air Force, Boise State and San Jose State.
