Enrique Karg has been named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, April 21. The award is voted on by a state-wide media panel.
With its sponsorship of the Student-Athlete of the Week, America First Credit Union donates funds directly to support student-athlete scholarships.
Karg tied for medalist honors at the Northern Colorado Spring Invitational with an 8-under 136 after carding rounds of 69 and 67 to win his first-ever tournament. Utah State won the seven-team tournament by 14 strokes with a 21-under 555 (274-281).
Karg is just the 11th Aggie in program history to win a tournament and the first since 2021. Overall, it is the 29th time in program history that an Aggie has won at least a share of a tournament title. It was Karg's first-career under-par finish and first-career top-10 placing. Karg had 12 birdies and four bogeys during his 36 holes.

MEN'S TENNIS – Senior Bodin Zarkovic (Belgrade, Serbia) posted a 2-0 record last week in helping Utah State to a 4-0 Mountain West victory at San Diego State as the Aggies won its fourth MW regular season title dating back to 2016. Zarkovic teamed with junior Sergi Micó Fenollar for a 6-4 win at the second doubles position to help USU claim the doubles point and posted a straight sets win at No. 1 singles (6-3, 6-3).
WOMEN'S TENNIS – Freshman Magdalena Nunez Pureco (Merida, Yucatan, Mexico) posted a straight sets win at No. 6 singles (6-2, 6-0) in Utah State's 4-1 Mountain West home loss to Boise State last weekend. Pureco also teamed with fellow freshman Niyati Kukreti at the third doubles position, where their match was left unfinished with the duo leading 5-4.
SOFTBALL – Junior infielder Ariel Fifita (San Marcos, California) led Utah State to a 1-3 record last week as the Aggies won at Utah Valley (W, 10-5), before losing all three games on the road at New Mexico (L, 6-9; L, 2-3; L, 5-6). Fifita began the week by going 2-for-2 with a triple, two RBIs, two walks and a pair of runs scored against UVU. She followed that with a 1-for-3 performance at the plate with a home run in game one against UNM. In the second game against the Lobos, she went 0-for-4 at the plate before closing out the week with a 1-for-2 performance with a run scored and an RBI in game three. In total, Fifita hit .545 (6-for-11) on the week with four runs scored, four RBIs, a home run, a triple and two walks. She also recorded five putouts with 12 assists.
MEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD – Freshman Walker Deede (Springville, Utah) took third in the men's javelin with a throw of 63.60 meters (208-8) at the Utah State Invitational last weekend. That mark ranks second in the Mountain West this season.
WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD – Junior Maddie Edwards (Pleasant Grove, Utah) won the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.73 at the Utah State Invitational last weekend. That time ranks third all-time in school history and second in the Mountain West this season. Edwards was also victorious in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:46.08, which is the seventh-fastest time in the MW this season and placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.95, which is the ninth-fastest in the MW this year.
