LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's
Enrique Karg was named the Mountain West Men's Golf Freshman of the Week, it was announced on Monday by the conference.
It is the second time this month that Karg has been honored by the MW.
Karg, a native of Guadalajara, Mexico, tied for medalist honors at the Northern Colorado Spring Invitational last week with an 8-under 136 after carding rounds of 69 and 67 to win his first-ever tournament. It was Karg's first-career under-par finish and first-career top-10 placing. Karg had 12 birdies and four bogeys during his 36 holes.
Karg is just the 11th Aggie in program history to win a tournament and the first since 2021. Overall, it is the 29th time in program history that an Aggie has won at least a share of a tournament title.
Utah State won the seven-team tournament by 14 strokes with a 21-under 555 (274-281).
